Four generations have passed, and our success at Honee Bear Canning – division of Packers Canning Company – can be found in the simplicity of our system. We process fruits and vegetables when they’re most flavorful to ensure that quality, taste and texture are not compromised. The end result is an excellent, convenient product that tastes great.
Because the majority of our crops come from local growers in the state of Michigan, we are able to process fruits and vegetables at the peak of their ripeness. Over the last six decades, we have produced asparagus, tart cherries, sweet cherries, blueberries, apples, plums, canned juices and various fruit pie fillings. We’re excited to include pickled asparagus and dry edible beans to our expanded product line.
Our products are available at grocers across the country. The private-label products we process can be found on supermarket shelves nationwide, and our ability to co-pack allows us to process products for various national brands.
Our Commitment to Processing Quality Products
Quality assurance and food safety are incorporated into our standards of excellence at Honee Bear Canning. We have specialized Hazard Analysis and Critical Control Points (HAACP) plans in place for each of our products, and we comply with the Global Food Safety Initiative (GFSI) through certification by the British Royal Consortium (BRC) standard for food safety.
